Program Overview
At DIP-CO, we believe in the transformative power of open, stigma-free conversations about mental health. The Mind Matters Program creates safe, supportive environments for children, teens, and young adults (ages 3–24) to explore, understand, and prioritize their emotional well-being. Our program is built on evidence-based practices and international mental health guidelines, ensuring every participant receives care tailored to their developmental needs.
Program Components:
Mental Health Awareness Sessions
Duration: 2 hours
Objective: Normalize mental health discussions, reduce stigma, and educate participants on the importance of emotional wellness.
Activities: Interactive workshops, group dialogues, and educational activities designed to build understanding and promote open sharing in a safe space.
Focus: Teaching children, teens, and young adults to recognize mental health challenges, manage stress, and develop healthy coping skills.
Therapeutic Interventions
Duration: 1-hour individual sessions; 2-hour group sessions
Objective: Provide personalized, professional support to those experiencing psychological distress, facilitating emotional recovery.
Modality by Age Group:
Playful Pioneers (3-6 years): Play Therapy — using age-appropriate play to express feelings and build emotional awareness.
Rising Stars (7-12 years): Art Therapy — creative expression to process emotions and enhance mental wellness.
Trailblazing Teens (13-18 years) & Dynamic Creators (19-24 years): Talk Therapy structured conversations to build insight, resilience, and coping skills.
Facilitators: All sessions are led by licensed, trained mental health professionals specializing in child and adolescent psychology.
Counselling Debriefs (Timeout Sessions)
Duration: 2 hours
Objective: Offer reflective spaces for participants to process emotions and experiences following challenging situations.
Activities: Facilitated debriefing, emotional processing exercises, and peer support to foster resilience and emotional clarity.
Core Goals:
Normalize Mental Health: Create stigma-free environments encouraging open discussion.
Empower Emotional Well-being: Equip children, teens, and young adults with skills to manage their mental health proactively.
Provide Professional Support: Ensure access to qualified mental health care tailored to developmental stages.
Foster Resilience: Build emotional strength to navigate life’s challenges confidently and successfully.
